The Database Developer provides vision and support on all stages of application and database development.  This position will be responsible for designing the conceptual, logical and physical data models necessary to support our OLTP and OLAP systems.  The Database Developer should demonstrate proficiency in a variety of the field’s concepts, practices and procedures.  This position will work closely with Data Warehouse/Database Architecture Leadership and Analysts to gather and document requirements and complete technical tasks presented to them.


  • Participate in the development of new data models, analytic processes and construction of Operational Database and Data Warehouse architectures
  • Coordinate and facilitate requirements, analysis, design and development of database objects and reports as necessary (tables, procedures, functions, etc…)
  • Improving and streamlining the processes regarding data flow and data architecture to improve data accuracy, viability and value
  • Communicate to business customers, technical teams and leadership in a consistent manner making complex technical issues and solutions clear, simple and understandable
  • Participate in projects that support the ongoing development and growth of our operational and analytical systems
  • Participate in the ongoing development and operations of a data warehouse and business intelligence architecture that enables fact-based decision support
  • Designing and prototyping new analyses, reports, applications and systems



  • 3+ years' experience in RBDMS development
  • Strong T-SQL Query, ETL and Data Architecture experience
  • Independent critical thinker that can appreciate the contributions of the entire team, but also help in setting direction and technical design
  • Experience with DTS, SSIS and/or other ETL applications
  • Experience working with large amounts of data, conducting analysis and presenting findings
  • Experience working in an agile SDM environment, and on project teams with varied technical disciplines represented
  • Experience and comfort with providing candid code review/peer feedback, and performing tuning efforts on queries for efficiency
  • Experience and comfort with providing candid architectural/design feedback on data model and application design considerations
  • SQL Server 2008 R2, 2012



  • BS or BA degree in computer science or information technology
  • Mortgage and/or Financial Services industry experience
  • SQL Server 2012 Enterprise exposure
  • Experience developing within a Data Warehouse environment
  • Experience working with data modeling tools
  • SSAS exposure
